Las Terrazas, possesses
a discrete but very inviting and elegant infrastructure
dedicated to leisure activities making ecotourism it's main
attraction. The nature lover will come across very few regions
such as Las Terrazas where it is possible to enjoy such
diverse eco-systems.
Hiking and trekking are two major activities in the community.
Even with interpretation paths created for these activities,
the ones looking for more than the usual paths can follow,
by walking or horse backriding many other paths through
nature and ruins of the coffee plantation.
With numerous rivers to enjoy their favorite activity,
bathers will also find their enjoyment and pleisure at Las
Terrazas. Los Banos del San Juan is the zone where the river
San Juan runs through a valley producing cascades of great
hydro therapeutic value and, in addition, offering majestic
scenic beauty.
Other attractions:
The footpath for bird observation designed specifically
for this activity, is located in the upper region of the
San Juan Valley. More than one
hundred classified species, eight of which are of national
endemic species can be observed.
The Sendero de la Serafina, (Serafina path - 4 km long)
crossing the Massif Mango Rubio, was conceived specifically
for nature interpretation.
La Casa del Campesino offers exquisite and tasteful cuban
cuisine in rustic and natural surroundings.
La Fonda de Mercedes, located in a natural viewpoint, was
designed to enjoy the typical cuban cuisine with a local
cuban family.
Excursions in the neighboring community of Soroa, where
is located the country's largest orchid plantation.
